Heck at 2100rpm you are just getting into the "fun zone" But officer I didn't have my foot close to the floor yet?

Hmm.

Many times I have hit the fuel pump cutoff in top gear on the highway while driving my Saturn. (That is what S rated tires are all about!) What speed does the D/A fuel pump cutoff stop the fun?

I think that they should not have a speed limiter on them, but that is just my opinion.

Bob you are fine running in that area. That should be about 65-70 or in that area somewhere. I run sometimes higher and sometimes lower.

You have to look at the speed rating on the tire manufactures recomendation for your answer as to why .....

2100 RPM you are fine.

I hit 120MPH yesterday, I was too scared to look at the tach.http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Pinch.gif

I cruise to work between 80MPH-100MPH (2800-3000 RPM) every day its 45 mile drive.

On my 1000 mile last weekend, I was checking out the MPG at various speeds. I noticed at 65mph, the truck had the best MPG of around 22. Above 70mph, the MPG starts to drop more dramatically. I averaged 17.4 MPG on the trip. I was at various speeds on the highway from 65 to 85 and mostly cruising at 75. I did have a few miles of side streets and about 50 miles of LA traffic. I also "had" to punch it and do 90 mph up the grapevine while a Lincoln Navigator was on my tail. I was almost unloaded... It was just me w/ 600lbs on a hitch carrier.

Here's what I noticed yesterday, as I climbed over 90, the engine decided I was going fst enough and started to give me less power. I though this is interesting, so I brought it back down to 60 and hit it with pleanty of power till again at 90 plus it started to slow down. Kept it below 90 for the next two hours and ran smooth... it was just that 90 mph thing. Hmmmm

I was wondering the same thing. I try to keep at 70 to keep the rpm's at about 2200. It's OK to keep it steady at this rpm?

96mph is where you can't accelerate faster on level ground. Drove through much of Texas and Louisiana on the limiter.
