I'm thinking about adding an EZ to my truck.
I've read on here about the defueling that these do with an allison.
Does anyone know how programming modules deal with a manual tranny?
Is the defueling of the system simply ignored by the system?

no there is no defuel on trucks with a handshaker, just another benifit of having a manual trans!!!! just becareful how much and how hard you run with the extra power or you will junk the flywheel in no time at all!!!

I've never had a tuner on my 05 but I did have a J/A on my 03 D/ZF and level 3 was about as far as I could go before the pedal got hard. As for defuel... its called a right foot! ):h (sorry, couln't resist:o: )

I'm only planning to run 1 small tune so I hope the flywheel will stand it?
Just looking for a little extra when towing.
Don't know about you but I'll never own another Allison, love the ZF.

I tell ya what guys, I traded my 02 ZF 6 for a 02 ally, and as nice of a tranny as the ally is....I MISS THE 6 SPEED! I don't miss that flywheel though, I had three in mine which is why I went the ally direction.

Anyway, I ran a predator programmer with mine, and it was slowly but ever so surely tearing that flywheel ( #3 at 85000 miles) apart. That was only the 40 HP tune, and it also took my clutch out ( #2 ) and I had to put a HD clutch/Pressure Plate/Throw-out Bearing..:blahblah: . I did pull quite a bit with it though, nothing over 12,000 lbs, but I did use the truck. Anyhow, just some observations I encounterd when I was a handshaker;)
