I want to put on air bags from air lift and they have a system with compressor and air tank included with one guage with switch. My question is what air pressure is the gauge monitoring? I'm sure it measures the air bag pressure but should I be concerned about the air tank pressure also? what does the switch do next to the gauge? Increase the air bag pressure? I have a Trippin overhead mount and was thinking of installing air pressure gauges up there and maybe using the switches next to them to turn the compressor on. Think that will work? Maybe one switch to increase pressure and one to decrease pressure? I want to put boost, pyro, and oil temp on a-pillar mount and the air pressure overhead. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The switch inflates the bag. There is usually a bleed off button next to the switch. I don't have the tank but I think the guage is only for the air bag air pressure but..... in my system it will stay at peak pressure. So if you inflate the bags to 20 psi and hit a few bumps it can climb up to 60 psi. Problem is the gauge stays there. Never to return to the actual 20 psi unless you quickly hit the air release button.

I have an air lift system on my 04 Sierra HD. I carry up to 6000 lbs in my bed. Use the HD air bags connected to a compressor under the hood mounted near the fire wall on thr drivers side. The controls are on the dash below the radio. The gauge is in a 3 gauge pod on the windshield pillar with my boost and egt gauge. There is no need for a tank with this system and it only takes 2 minutes or so to pump the bags up to their 100 psi max. Hope this helps.

the tank is like a air reserve just for a quicker response for the air bags, like going around a corner one side loads up the other is not. the leveling valve 2 switches back forth highway trucks been use these for years now

I agree, I really didn't see a need for the tank but if you do want it you could put some sort of a relief valve to maintain what pressure you actually have in the bags and not what they have spiked to due to terrain. I believe the guages are useless if this is uncorrectable. But just my .02
