I notice two distinct bubbles, for a lack of a better term, in my trim, on both sides. One is located under the front door handle, the other is located at about the front 1/3 of the trim on the rear door. They are in the same place on both sides, so it's not where someone swung a door into me or anything. Just wondering if anyone else has this?

I don't know if they are bubbles on mine, but when I look at the trim at an angle it looks like ripples or a wavy spot. If thats what you mean I have them too.

Both my rear doors on my cc have it too. Just noticed it last week. Putting molding on my list for the dealership.

What do you suppose is causing this? Do you suppose replacing them would make it go away?
03GMC,
Are you gonna have the dealer replace them?

I going to leave mine alone. I figure if the dealer replaces them I will end you with some other problem from removal, I'm just to picky on who touches my truck. Edited by: Voodoo

I had the same problem as eveyone has described on mine. I just said instead of fixing it, I took the hair dryer to them and peeled the body mouldings off entirely!! Not to mention no more waves, but now the truck looks alot better!!
I didn't really like the mouldings anyway, too hard to keep clean!!

The trim is pretty hard to keep clean for some reason. I think that the material is more easily stained than the rest. I have alot of black spots on mine that won't seem to come off. I also agree that the trucks look marginally better with the trim removed. However, I really like them on there. I always worry about people swinging their doors into me, and I figure let them hit my trim instead of dent my actual door. Of course, as high as Voodoo's truck is, I doubt he really worries about people's doors. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

Bowtiebob,
I will wait to see if it gets worse first. I will wait till closer to the end of the warranty to have the dealership replace them. I'm cerainly not going to mess with them myself. That is why I have a warranty! I know if I can have the chrome emblems on my wife's Durango (Dodge service is the worst!) that I will have no problem having the GMC dealership do it.
I to have the same imperfections in my moldings. They are really noticeable now that I have polished(waxed) my truck. But only from an angle. My guess is a new set from the stealer won't change a thing. The imperfections are probally due to a manufactuing defect by the molding manufacturer. Poor quality control on GM's part. Are these moldings held on by 3m tape or plastic fastners? I was thinking the raised areas were due to fastners, but I could be wrong.
