***DISCLAIMER PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS MOD UNLESS YOU HAVE GAUGES!!!!!!!!!! IT IS IN THE BEST INTERST OF THE ENGINE AND YOUR BANK ACCOUNT***

Well after doing some more research here, and after talking to QM on the phone to make sure I understood what I was doing. BTW QM is awesome!!!!! I went to the dollar store and bought a cheap turkey baster per QM’s advice. I then removed the upper intake, removed the lid from the IP, and sucked the fuel out with the baster and sure enough there was a line down on the passenger side. BTW removing the fuel makes it easier to see the line. Loosened the #40 torque bolt move the sensor over just enough to cover that line, filled the IP back up with the fuel I removed and tightened every thing back up. It took an extra second or two to start by once it did it was running good and sounding good. Went for a drive and the truck runs REALLY GOOD now. I didn’t see to much difference on the take off, but once it shifts into second that’s when it feels like it pulls much much better, boost also seemed to come up faster. I had the TM set at about 10-11PSI @ WOT but was seeing 12-13PSI. I since turned down the TM down to 10-11psi at WOT. EGT also seem to rise a little faster but not out of control I’m seeing 550-600* while cursing @ 65-67mph and about 1000-1050@ WOT. Can’t see if it making much black smoke because the exhaust is turned down under the truck, but I know it seems to dims the head lights of the cars that are behind me at night more now than before. :grd:

Sounds like a fun project for you. Now when is somebody on this site going to do a step by step process with pics for this site. Somebody needs to step up and do it. Sorry I can't, I'm to lazy. Besides nobody believes me. I get no respect.

New bearings won't be necessary. Stanadyne uses solid ceramic rollers in all the late model DS pumps.

If for some reason I take my intake back off i'll to the bump and take some pics, but, until then... Forgot all about it the last 3 times I had it off... in a period of 2days, getting it down pretty good now though...

These are pics from the old IP I just keep for the fun of it, and so I could take pics of it I guess.

The 1st pic is the lip completely removed. Note you do not have to completely remove the lid to do the optic bump just move it to the side. I removed it here so you can see the line better.

The 2nd and 3rd pics are of the line that you just want to cover with the sensor.

4th pic is the sensor that you will being moving over that line.

5th pic is about where the sensor will be sitting and the line is right beside it. You just need to move the sensor about 1mm, just enough to cover the line.

6th is the sensor moved and no line showing.

7th pic is just the IP with the lid on top.

I hope this helps, and everyone can see them.
