Any CANUCKS on the forum that can recommend a fuel additive sold here in Canada. No probs yet after 100005 KM.Just starting to learn about DIY maintenance and have been surfing through the threads here and now see references to fuel additives and their benefit to keeping injectors clean-but all are U.S.Brand names .I can't seem to find them in the retail sources here in Hamilton,Ontario.Any suggestions from someone in the know?

I ran John Deere fuel conditioner. It is the easiest for me to get and is supposed to be very good. Haven't seen much discussion on it here but have on lots of other boards.

I was told once that John Deere fuel cond. is actually Standayne. Might be in the fine print on the bottle.

I believe at one time that used to be the case. Apparantly now John Deere makes their own that is very similar to standayne but different enough to not infringe on patent rights. I am not 100% sure as this is just a rumor I heard. It might be totaly false. Although I did see a comparison of some kind somewhere and it was very close to standayne but not identicle.

I use Stanadyne Performance which I purchase @ Mike's Diesel in Kitchener. Stanadyne is a demulsifier which is approved for use in the Dmax by GM. Check for local diesel injector shops. I'm thinking there is Brant diesel to your west.

30,000kms on truck, been running Stanadyne for 18,000kms. 8,000kms since last fuel filter change. Bled fuel filter yesterday to check for water...none!! YES!! I try to buy fuel @ busy truck stops so its fresh a hopefully water free.

I plan to add extra fuel filter in engine compartment...soon.
