i have had dodge cummins for the last 10 years and was a member at dtr website for dodges, it was time for a new truck and i drove everything there is in the last 2 weeks and nothing come close as far as tranny ,engine , ride and i could go on and on. after driving new dodges 3 different times i just kept going back to the duramax.i drove 2 fords and not even close.so here i am with my new lbz lt3 cc with every single gm option there is.:chevy: just wanted to say helloe to all of you and have been reading here for the last week or so and i am excited to see a great helping site like this one!! the more i drive this truck the more i love it, my last dodge i just traded was modded and it wont be long till the bug bites me again :ro)

Welcome. I also made the switch from Dodge. I agree with the motor and tranny being better, but the bounce in the rear of the GMC takes some getting used to. I am getting ready to order Bilstiens to smooth it out some. Also hope fuel mileage will increase after some more miles.

Welcome. I love my duramax as well. As far as the bounce in the rear, I have my torsion bars cranked up in front to level the truck out and I have 285x75 tires but I put 300 lbs. of sand in the rear for added traction in the winter which also smooths out the ride. Might want to try some weight if it bothers you.:)

I've got about 150 lbs in there now, will increase it and see how it does. It is not as bad as my buddy's 01, and he has 300 lbs plus in the bed.
