I have an 03 GMC that is very hard to start, more so when hot. I'll have to crank like 15-20 sec in the AM when cold, but almost a minute if it's warm. Sometimes it still won't start. Been in the dealer for 4 days now. Supposedly checked injectors, glow plugs, rail pressure. Said everything was normal and at 20,000 miles, this is normal behavior. I know better. Any hints where to point a new dealership. I picked up the truck to take to another dealer.

They need perform the fuel system high pressure side diagnosis while the engine is hot. Have them look at #PI01499.

There have been some troubles with the filter housing sucking air/loosing prime casuing these type symptoms but it is kind of tough to diagnose. You need a tech that can read the high side fuel system diagnosis chart and come up with his own plan to rule in/out the housing.

natk - i was thinking that as well. a fellow member ended up having the OEM filter head assembly replaced under warranty and that fixed his problem which was similar to yous..
