Ok, manual says to wait 30 min if you have been driving at high speed or in heavy traffic to check the fluid, then it says the hot check must be performed at 160 to 200 degrees. Well, even after high speed runs and traffic the tranny does not reach 150 degrees. So, the hot check is mute? right? Even if I could get it past 150 it would take hard driving--then you gotta wait 30 min, and by then it would be cold! It does measure correct for the cold check. Should I worry about the hot check? It has only been aroung 50 degrees around here--maybe this summer I can do a hot check?

I've never heard of that one but I wouldn't doubt GM making a statement like that .... I've driven mine plenty hard and checked the fluid with-in a couple minutes and never had a problem ....

That came right out of the Duramax manual that came with my truck.
