: Need Transmissions Shop
joshz06 04-01-2004, 07:56 AM I want my Allison built. I have the trans-go, clutches and a triple disc suncoast converter, I need someone to install in. Not a fly by night shop, someone who has done a few and will stand behind their work. I live in Wilson, NC. If you know of a shop or you are a vendor please contact me ASAP. Last resort Suncoast is 12 hrs away. Thanks

Joe Webb will attest(Suncoast) that i know what i am doing. I am a Suncoast dealer. I probably have done more Allisons than most shops. I don't just throw a Transgo kit or Suncoast mod in and send you off. I do some things that no one else cares to do; i care, and it don't cost anymore.

I like my ATS kit. Of course you may not need that level of performance. Perhaps the TTS converter/Transgo kit might be enough. Either way have Mike L. install it.
Mike can apply his considerable skills to anything. He just fixed a D**g*/Cummalong for my buddy. Buddy's Job is near Mike's shop so I made the recommendation based on this board. Buddy is extremely happy and taking me out for steak dinner Saturday for making the recommendation. Mike does all the work and I get the treats! Great job Mike! Thank you!
I'll drink one in your honor Sat. night!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

is that 2300 just for installation. or for the whole kit. j/w I have some money to spend and I'm up in the air. I'm either gonna lift my truck or do the tranny upgrade so I can up the power. thanks for your help.

I hope the 2300.00 isn't for labor.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif Remember, just because STEVE builds Allison transmissions, does not mean he knows how to tweak some things to make it better. If he is following the Allison manual, then you are built for slow tow, not go.

I was just thinking along those same lines....
If 2300 is for labor, I can be down there in a day's notice and take care of that for yahttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif
Mackin 04-09-2004, 11:53 PM Just for the record, SteveO doesn't only rebuild stock Allisons ....He has done many buildups not only for big RV's but our LIL Pick'ups .... He's welcome to stop in and teach us a thing or two ....
Stop in the ATS forum do a search on Steve O ,member....This is not where I know of him and your welcome to ask John Kennedy about Steve also he'll give ya some additional feed back ...

Invite him over here.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif As far as the 2300.00 price posted, a few of us questioned it after one of our members paid a very high price for a similar mod to an Allison dealer. Just tryin to protect our members, thats all.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
mike
Mackin 04-10-2004, 11:38 PM Mike he's been invited I don't think he has the time as he hasn't posted in some time on the udder forum ,I don't like to mention the name as we get no reciprocation.... He came to CT at our last Dyno day tho ...
He's welcome to stop in he knows where we are....
Nothing wrong with asking price with parts ,a lot of us didn't know or weren't sure ...

joshz06 04-11-2004, 08:09 PM Update: Dropped the truck off at Steve's Friday night, was ready Sunday afternoon (he finished Sat night). He ended up replacing C-4 due to the fact they look worst than C-1, C-2 or C-3. Feels good so far, only have abut 300 miles since install.http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Mackin 04-11-2004, 08:36 PM joshz06
Good deal ....
That means he went thru the whole tranny to insure it was up to par ...

GMCSLEHD 04-13-2004, 08:20 PM motovet,
If you don't get any replies, call Joe Webb at Suncoast and ask if he could personally recommend anyone within a couple hours of you. That's what I did, and he hooked me up with a great transmission guy.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
