Well after spending the last week or so in and out of the dealership for one thing or another they called me to ask if they could use my truck(free of charge) to test out a new fuel system flush unit they have. They told me the diesel tech wanted some more experiance with the unit. After a few question they told me that it went through all fuel system moving part. I asked if i needed to replace the fuel filter they said no. As far as the actual process they were pretty tight lipped anyone know what they really do. Or could it be they just took my truck out hot rodding to blow out the fuel system cause i was down 1/4 of a tank and only 20miles on the truck. Just kinda curious what they had done thanks.

Dmaxmachine, Sounds like you got the "Italian tuneup". If they truly did flush your whole system you'd sure think they replace the fuel filter. Sounds like snake oil to me. Dealers sell flushes for only one reason...PROFIT.

The flush is not snake oil and it is not new. My dealer has used it on several high mileage trucks that were out of injector warranty. The tech that did the flushes said it helped three of four. That was over a year ago if memory serves me well. Later! Frank

well it was no charge to me and they said he just wanted practice with the machine. Anyways i did not see any type of fuel mileage increase or change in idle. yall are probably right its all smoke and mirrors.

The flush is not for good running trucks. It is for systems suspected of being dirty, running poorly etc. Later! Frank
