Someone told me recently that you can't mount a plow on a Dmax equipped 2500 HD.

Is this true?

i know for a fact that you can put a plow on that truck. a good friend of mine has a 2500HD and he just got a western plow that pivots in the middle. it is a huge plow....he had a little trouble with it at first but now it works great and he loves it.

Physically, Yes. Many do it. GM only has a few models that you can do it. To be "http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gifGM Legalhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif" you need to make sure the front axle weight is below the weight rating.

Look at details on Hoot's quest, and do a search for plows... You'll find many!

You can ordera Dmax with the snow plow package. However if you do not have the package you may void the warrenty on the truck. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif

I originally wanted a EC LB but you can not order that combo with the snow plow package. I had to get the EC with a SB witht the D/A . I love ithttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Hug.gifI have not gotten a plow for it yet. I have plowed for the past 20 years with a Meyers but I am now going to get a Western. Enjoy your truck.

Hoot has some pictures of a snowplow on a 2500 HD. You can see pictures of it on his WebPage Signature.

You can put a plow on ANY truck.

But GM only offers Snowplow Prep on Regular cabs and Ext. Cab SHORT beds.

It all depends on front axle weight. You really don't want to go over the 4670lb FAWR.

I've carried a 8'2" BOSS V plow on my '90 for over 10 years with no problems. Ordered a 9'2" BOSS V for the '04.

I got an 8.5" Boss Superduty on mine and it handles it fine. Think it weighs in a couple hairs under 800lb complete. I'll get the timbrens next year, supposed to help out a lot.

I think I read the reason GM doesn't want you putting a plow on was because if you load up the truck with six passengers and a plow the front will be overweight. Who knows. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif Guess you could get it weighed if you really want to know. When I was shopping around I was told the biggest I could get installed was a Playskool plastic plow. They wouldn't install any larger for liability reasons so I carried out.

So far the Boss is nice. Very quick hydraulics, easy to mount, looks pretty darn beefy, haven't broken it yet http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
