I've been watching this site for a long time. Because I'm not a typist I've not been much of a help to any of you. While I've enjoyed all of the info that is shared, I've had no isssues with my truck. Today that ended.
I've got an early 04 C-3500 that has 65,384 miles and is getting new injectors as I type. I noticed that the truck started smoking about 3000 miles ago and got worse as the mileage grew. We are on the road now and have put on just over 11,000 miles since early December. Yesterday when we pulled into an RV park in Las Cruces, NM the truck was smoking wosre than it has and power was down. Very noticeable when pulling a 14,000# 5er. Went to the Chevy dealer this morning first thing and found out that their tech was out sick. El Paso had 1 tech out and their #2 man was buried. Next stop was the GMC dealer in Las Cruces. When I explained my plight to the service mgr (we're on our way home to the Seattle area) he said he would have his guy check out the truck within the hour. Twenty minutes later I saw the tech move my truck into the shop. An hour later the tech and the service mgr told me that the injectors needed to be replaced and asked if I could do without the truck until tomorrow afternoon. With a huge smile on my face I confirmed I could live with that!
It looks like we're on the road again in very short order. I want to tell all of you thanks for your posts and while I hope none of you have any bad experiences,if you do, I hope that your luck is as good as mine. I'll give you a short blurb when I get the truck back. Thanks again to all of you who make this such an awesome page!!
