Said they reprogrammed, lubed and something else to correct the problem. They appear to move in/out faster now. Time will tell.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

Iam with Texmudder. Those things vibrate like crazy. Hard to tell what in the world is behind you.

Mine lasted one winter/20K miles and both clutches gave up the ghost. They lubed one, replaced the other, and now they work "most of the time". I have a feeling I'll be replacing them again, hopefully before 36K miles.

My 2003 stopped working at 3,600 miles. Both sides were sticking. The dealer replaced both mirrors. They seem to be alot beter, but they will stick after no use. I try to cycle mine at least once a month. So far if the new ones stick I just move the switch back and forth about 5 times and the stuck mirror will break free and work fine. http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

I did try to lube mine the first time and that did not fix the problem. I am not sure what type of lubricant I used.

I know that these mirrors run around $600.00. I would have the dealer replace both if you have problems. I am not sure what is different about the new mirrors but I am sure some type of countermeasure was implemented if they Issued a TSB.

Thanks for the TSB. Do you now if there is one particualr part or adjustment to correct the shakiness? My mirrors do stick but I either pull on them or run them all the way in or out and they become unstuck.

The shakiness, I have never been able to fix. It really http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif me to think I have a 40K truck with defective mirrors. I am really trying to fix these mirrors. I am at a point where I have 3 options.

1. Work with GM to fix my existing mirrors.

2. Spend 400-500.00 smakers on TTT or Cipa aftermarket mirrors.

3. Sell the truck and buy something with good mirrors.

4. Living with the problem is no longer an option. A 40K truck deserves good mirrors.

Any suggestions?

Mine don't shake at all. Do you have a bug deflector? I have a GM bug deflector maybe that is the difference?

I just got back in from a test drive without my Bugflector installed.

The vibration has been reduced signigantly however there is still some shakiness. The passenger mirror is still worse than the driver side and the shake frequency is still the same.

My Bugflector seems to amplify the original problem. After reading this post I see that not all are inflicted by this problem and those that do have it are not limited to the Extended cab model. I will take my truck tot he dealer and give them a shot.

Mine don't shake, but the passenger one will stick sometimes. I just pull it out a little and then it will work...

I found an easy fix for the shaking mirrors. Just put a piece of spunge behind the glass part in the mirror body itselfs. It adds a little pressure to the rear of the glass and really works good for me. I used about 1/4 of a car wash spunge in each mirror.

Just to add more feedback ... I have had both mirrors replaced (drivers and passenger side) while still under warranty. The dealer didn't say anything about trying to fix them, they just said, we've seen that before and put two new ones on. My biggest problem with them has been trying to get them to extend and retract. They would work for a while, then after driving for a while, they would stop working. You could hear the motor turning, just the mirror would not extend. If you took the mirror and folded it flat, then unfolded, it would work again for one maybe two times, but then stop working again. This was all well under 10,000 miles too....

I have not had any mirror shaking or vibration problems. No bug deflector and a CC 4X4 truck.

Mines shake, truck is 4 months old with only 3k miles, drivers mirror is worse than passenger side, I just move them a bit and that works for a day or 2, I'll take it in when I get back from our family camping trip to Yosemite.

Here's a thought for you if you have the power extending mirrors and they stick: Try White Lithium Grease. Mine where sticking a little, so I popped the cover off nad greased the track with some and they both go in and out at about the same speed with no problems... We'll see if it lasts.

These mirrors have a "Programming" feature on them. I had the same problem mirrors hadn't been used in 3 months went to extend them, and they stuck. Called the dealer and he said check my owners manual. It doesn't say power extending but it talks about folding the mirrors in and out a few times. I did it and mine have worked fine ever since.

But the Drivers side mirror shakes like a MOFO! I can't even see out of it going down the road. Hell it shakes at idle sometimes. I'm not sticking anything behind it, the dealer tries to stick us in the behind all the time, now it's my turn.

At work, one of our lumber brokers is real good friends w/the that invented these powert mirror's,last week he was at the our shop and told me that the i needed the updated clutches, went to my dealer and told them that! And they said ok,fixed for free. He also said that in early 05 that they were not going to use his mirror's for 06, Some people don't like the new (ford looking) mirror's.But i do!.The power mirror's are a cool idea, but the shape of the mirror its self SUCKS. And not use full at all, cant see the ground by the tires and have limited veiw,so i see why they have moved on.

I thought these mirrors were great, for the first 5,000 miles. Then they started to shake, and now its the pitts. I drive up to old Fords, and Dodges and their mirrors don't seem to shake at all. Toyed with the idea of replacing the mirrors, now I am waiting for GM to extend the Warranty on the injectors, or I am toying with the idea of getting rid of the truck. Really like it, but I pull a 5th wheel and between waiting for the Injectors to go out and the shakey mirrors, I am at my witts end here.

I also had issues with my mirrors on an 2004.5 E/C SB 4WD SB... The Drivers side started vibrating at about 5K, and the passenger side stuck. My dealer replaced both. I now have about 24K on the truck, and the drivers side is starting to vibrate only at idle while in drive stopped. As soon as you let off the brake, it smoothes out. I plan on having the dealer fix er' again, who knows, 3rd mirror is a charm???
