I just bought a 2004 D/A and want to do the PMI work my self and not the stealer. I already had a bad experience with the dealer on the PDI. Both rear and front differentials were low. Just by chance Chevy called me on a survey about the experience on buying this truck from the dealer. I told them every thing was find but was not very pleased with the PDI. It wasn't 4 hours later the dealer called and wanted to know what was the problem. I told them about the low fluid levels, they said that they would look into it and get back to me. Never heard a lick from them.

Also this dealer has a 10 year and 100,000 limited power train warranty and the fine print reads that the dealer must perform the PMI to honor the warranty. $200.00 deductable, they said free with purchase but some where they have included it into the selling price.

Also the GM warranty said, I believe that a GM certified mechanic must perform the work to honor the warranty.

Is this true???. Or can I do the work using the recommened fluids, filters, grease, or equivalent products like the manuals say and keep the reciepts,to honor these warranties.

Is there any Federal Laws out there on consumer rights and warranties.

I plan on using the most of the fluids and filters with GM part numbers but would also like to use Mobil 1, Amsiol, baldwin filters. I already bought some of the highest priced grape juice, I have every seen to get the levels up in the rear end. But refuse to pay the stealer any more then I have to.

Any feed back would be helpful

Thanks
