The sunroof on my '06 sure makes a lot of noise. On my old Ford I could stand it up to about 70 mph. This one gets unbearable at 40 mph. I'm wondering if a deflector would help? Something in carbon fiber would be nice since the truck is white.
I also thought about adjusting the little factory deflector since it seems to stick up pretty high.
Thoughts?

Yeah, same complaint here too. I still prefer the OEM sunroof as my experience with aftermark roofs has not been good and the factory warranty will cover me if it ever starts leaking, but it is a bit noisy.
Let us know how the deflector works out if you add one.

I was talking about this with the wife last week. We had a 2002 GMC Yukon XL with a factory sun roof. While on the interstate the wind noise was to much to leave the sun roof open. Last week we drove from IN to FL with the sun roof open 90% of the time.
I also have a 2004 Silverado and 2001 Grand Prix. Both have after maket sun roofs and have 60-80% less wind noise and no water leaks. Also both of my after market sun roofs have the auto close feature. This feature will auto close the roof when the key car is turned off, I dont think GM offers this.

Make me glad I got the top of the line webasto hollandia installed aftermarket rather than the OEM which I believe is the middle of the line webasto. The aftermarket retracts into the headliner rather than above the roof, and is very quite up to 70mph or so. even above that wind noise is very tolerable.
Cost less than OEM and IMHO much better.

I have the same complaint! I did notice if you grab the little wind diflector and pull it down, it's better. I was thinking about holding it down some how.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. It seems like somewhere in the middle is where the wind noise is the least. I haven't crawled up there to see but on my last truck, a Ford Supercrew, there was just a little cloth strap holding it down. That truck did the same thing but with a little adjustment I cut down the wind noise significantly.

looks like a spring on both side is what holds it up. I think you could use zip ties as limiting straps. As soon as I get a min. I'll look at it again.
