OK I installed my new bilsteins from www.kennedydiesel.com today and they are like night and day. I only have 2200 miles on my truck but there is no comparison. It rides and handles 100 percent better...again THANKS to John Kennedy for all his help and knowledge.

Coens,

Sounds like you and I did the same thing today!

I went for a short test drive and it felt 100% better.

It is hard to believe the difference bilsteins make, what a ride

I just got mine from Kennedy on Friday as well. Put 'em on in the rain yesterday morning. I can't believe how much better the truck handles. Truly a huge and noticeable difference. Rear end hooks up better too:D

I have the front end raised about 1 1/2" via torsion bar crank up. If you have done that as well, I would suggest a small spacer at the top of the front shocks so they are not what takes all the pounding when you fully extend the front suspension. What I did was just use the two washers from the top of the OEM shock and put them together clamshell style. It worked perfectly. I also installed the Husky mudflaps and rotated the tires. Might as well do it all while I'm at it.
The mudflaps fit perfectly and look like they came with the truck. I had to trim the fronts on the inside just a bit to clear the 285 tires. I also tucked the inner fender plastic to the inside of the metal at the very bottom to provide for just a bit more tire clearance once the mudflap was in place.

On to the next mod.
Just give me a week or so. . . I'll think of something I can't live without.

i am looking into buying some bilsteins to replace my stock shocks. one thing i was wondering about is i have the torsion bars screwed in to level the truck. should i try and buy longer front shocks? or do the spacer trick like biggar did? also what model bilsteins should i buy???? thanks!

I just cranked the bars and aligned yesterday. I put Bilsteins on the front today, what a difference. This is the way a truck should feel. Now I need to do the back, they feel like junk. Anyone notice a bit more steering vibration at idle after cranking the torsion bars?

Yes, I can feel the fine vibration in the driver's door handle, steering wheel, and hear it .... it sounds like a mild buzzing. It just recently started doing it and I just cranked the Tbars last weekend. Hmmmm...

On Kennedy Diesel's site where I ordered them from, the ones I ordered were listed as being for trucks that were stock or had the torsions cranked up in front. I did the spacer thing on my own. I just saw how stressed the top rubber was when the suspension was fully extended while it was jacked up and figured that probably is not a good thing.

ok i priced out some bilsteins and they came out to be around 250. i called the local 4x4 shop and they have some HD bilsteins that i can buy for 145 a piece. lifetime warrenty. they will replace them for anything, including abuse and normal wear and tear. i plan on driveing this truck for a long time. what do you guys think? what kind of shock did you guys buy? did they have the full lifetime warrenty?
