Got Diesel?

I've got about 650 miles on the new truck. 2004 GMC Sierra D/A, 9900# GVW, CC, LB. Lotsa WhooHoo. Believe it or not, I read the owners manual front to back. I'm kind of surprised that there isn't more info on the the operation of the Allison. I remember when the D/A was fist released and GM supplied a video tape on the transmission. I never saw it, but wish I had. The info that came with this truck makes very little mention of operation of the transmission. Brief description of the location of the tow/haul button and the overdrive lockout, but no real details on the use of these features let alone any special tricks. I'm going to be hauling a pickup camper in the 2500-3000# range.

Does anybody here know where there might be a good story on the operation of the Allison?

My local Allison dealer gave me an operator's Manual for the 1000/2000/2400 series when I bought my filter. No charge. Our trucks run the 1000 series.
