Hey, Im Matt Hemmer this is my first post here. I just got a 95 K3500 with the 6.5L and Ill have plenty of Q's seing as this is my first diesel. Its throwing codes at me:
29: Glow plug relay faust
36: Injector pulse width error
78: Waste gate solenoid fault
84: Accelerator pedal position circut fault
99: Accelerator pedal position reference circut ? Cruise prob or invalid PCM program

I dont know enought about the workings of diesels to know whether to worry about these or not. I had them checked at the local parts store.(thats where I got the numbers) I am also still looking for a good repair manual for the truck and engine to tell me what to check when I get these codes, anyone know of one? I cant find a Hayes book at the parts store. So far I love the diesel though! just wanted to get this stuff straightened out. Thanks for any help, matt

Howdy Matt welcome to the site, go thru FAQ sticky most of info you seek is there, then update your signature per welcome note link in mine, Do you have an active check engine lite, that many codes are probably stored ones, since yours is OBDI you can self check codes with a paper clip as outlined in FAQ

Wow there is a lot of info there. I even got one of the fancy code keys from autozone. Im wondering what I need to do about the codes. Ill clear them and see what it throws now. Im in need of a service manual for the truck or more specifically, the engine. Im hoping it could tell me how to check the components that are giving out codes. Anyone know of a good book? Im wondering if any of these are real serious or just something that will rob me of power. Either way, I want to know what to check and fix I just have no clue on things like the waste gate. thanks, matt.

That's a good idea Matt... just clear the codes and see what comes back. BTW don't forget to update your sig, that way if you do have some codes that come back we'll know what kind of truck we are dealing with.
