As some of you might know they deleted the footwell lights on 03 up trucks. the tabs to put the sockets are trill there however and all I would need to do is buy a couple of 194 bulb sockets and wire them up. anyone know witch wire to tap Im pretty sure they are switched negatively.

in the 'mid bussed electrical center' (under the dash where you plug in the trailer brake controller) Plug C10 pins B and C are both hooked to the courtesy lamp circuit. I used pin B to power the lights I added under the dash and am running pin C under the seats to put similar lamps for the rear passengers.
C10 is the white 12pin plug on the left and if you look real close you can make out the letters molded into it.
I found a metripack .280 female pin package at an auto parts store under the motormite brand and just had to clip the locking tang off of it so it would latch into c10 which has the locking tang in the plug body already.
The lamp holders are standard plastic, I pulled the side marker lamps from my old 88 s10 before it went to the scrapyard.

Just did this today. Thanks for the info on the wiring hookup. Not having the footwell lights always kind of bothered me.
I did notice this though -- the lights in the doors on my '03 Sierra act as courtesy lights, and will turn on/off with my overhead/new footwell lights, as well as go along with the dim-to-off safety feature. After looking at the schematics, those lights power leads run through the left and right side I/P fuse panels. There is no listing for "courtesy lights", though. If we could figure out which wires run those door lights, the wiring would be a snap!

thats because there is no wiring for those lights going into the door from the left and right I/P fuse panels.;) :)
its controlled by data. The door courtesy lights are wired into the DDM and PDM. BCM sends a Class II data signal to the DDM and PDM, which turn on/dim the lights according to the data signal they receive from the BCM. You'll have to tap into the wire in the MBEC and then run that wire all the way over to the passenger side to get that footwell light to work. Kind of a pain tho:(

Thanks Ben, I appreciate your reply. I figured after reading the charts that maybe, just maybe, they were the "Interior Park Lights".
On a side note, you start posting "BCM" "DDM" "PDM" etc, etc, and all I get is  .

Went out after sundown to see what kind of difference these lights make.
All I can say is "Wow, what an improvement!" The whole front interior has light now.

BCM-body control module, the main computer under the dash
DDM- drivers door module, the computer/module thing that controls the driver side mirror, driver side memory seat, windows, door locking, heated seats, remote keyfob unlocking and locking data
PDM- pass door module, same thing as driver door module except controls pass side mirror, pass power seat, pass seat heat, pass window etc
I have no life Tom, I read about and play around TOO MUCH with this stuff.):h
Arent the lights nice when you add them?? I said the same thing first day after I installed them!! I dont know why I didnt add them earlier...

Then you need the glovebox light too!!! That one's simple!
Thinking about a center console lid light out of a couple white LEDs.

Naw....they kids don't need lights....
The front door lights seem to do a good job of lighting that area right now.
