Not all that hard, just a bit time consuming. If you go with a spindle-type lift, your front trac width will be widened, but you won't have to cut anything (Certain skyjacker and procomp lifts...that I know of). You should more than be able to tackle it with the right tools and some knowledge.

GET THE CORRECT BAR UNLOADING TOOL cannot emphasize this enough

Most of the brand name kits aren't too bad, most all have good instructions w/pics. I know for sure that the rancho and pro comp kits need few pieces cut off, sawzall works perfectly. Most with a bit of mechanical ability can do one in a weekend, the front parts are heavy.... don't attempt lifting them alone

I have used a two-jaw gear puller several times, but it made me more and more nervous every time...get the tool!

If you have decent mechanical skills you can install a lift, it isn't that hard, just takes a while...

The torsion bar will fall right out if you unbolt everything from the lower control arm and leave it connected to the truck and step on it. Give a lil yank and it will slide right on out. You don't need any tool
