A good set of towing mirrors. Plug an play, power extend, heated, turn signal, big enough to see whats back there(taller as opposed to wider) with spot mirror integrated. Is that really too much to ask for?? I have my check book waiting. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Unfortunatly, those are the mirrors I have. I just personally think they suck. I learned a long time ago that a bad set of mirrors can make you look REALLY, REALLY stupid, and I don't need any help along those lines. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

A fuel flap made of green nauga or plastic which unfolds with fuel door open and has WARNING! DIESEL FUEL ONLY on both surfaces. Could hang from filler spout via xx diameter hole. Some protection from fuel spills but mostly to get attention of anyone doing a fuel fill up.

After reading and thinking. I decided to do something about it. I am making just such a product. I can't do squat about my colored badges but I can certainly do something about those gay weak nerf bars.

I will post a topic with pictures when I am done. My question to you is this. Should it extend all the way to the front of the rear wheelwell to provide a little step into bed?

Thank goodness I am a Jeeper. I got the tubing bender and welder already set. I might make a few of these for people if they turn out nice. Stay tuned.

An EMP (elctro magnetic pulse) canon for people who dont know how to drive.

BUT mostly for those rap playing bass bangin TOO FLIPPIN LOUD stereos.

The emp would fry all the electronics in the car its pointed at.

Man would I like to see their faces as the radio starts smoking.....

OK so thats my "will never have" toy.

But realistically I would like to have a fender well wheel flare mud flap all in one insert. It would protect everyting under, in front and in back of the truck. It would keep the sides from getting chipped and sand blasted too. The mudflap and wheel flare would be snap on so you could replace it if damaged.

I second the motion on the Ford Style mirrors, except I don't want that silly integrated piece of crap mirror at the bottom. Just the full size mirror, I'll buy one of the small round convex mirrors and stick it to the bottom.

Well, if we can't go with the EMP cannon then I'll settle for dual exhaust that exits to each side of the truck, then add a little Juice, spool up the turbo and instant black fog bank right in the window of those annoying boom boom rice rockets.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif With the exhaust on either side, just switch the diverter valve. A couple of things come to mind:

A well thought out fuel injection system with more than adequate filtration for worldwide use with injectors and pump that will last at least 250,000 miles; tierods that will hold up to constant HD abuse use; bumpers that won't cringe, wrinkle, and cry uncle when touched; bodies and frames that are as tough as the 60's trucks (remember the GMC V6 trucks - couldn't dent those bodies except with a CAT); 6 speed Allison; D/A that will get 25 mpg, 20 towing (yes, it is very possible); GM paint that is at least as thick as a Vegas strippers nailpolish; tire size options that make sense for a truck; a 200,000 mile warranty with dealers who try to warranty rather than try to deny because of some unrelated matter ("warranty is only good on the 32nd day of the month, and only on the 13th month thing), manufacturers that practice thruth in advertising - (built like a rock, and all that cr-p which really means don't use it like we advertise it because we are puffing to sell trucks and only want them used as street queens) and finally a manufacturer who builds a top quality truck product, sells it as a truck capable of doing what a truck should be able to do, and warranties it as such. The Model A pickup was probably the last vehicle that would qualify.

PC - a space systems engineer for an aeronautics company in the 70's developed a "death gun" on his own time which totally disabled the electronic systems of 70's and 80's vehicles as they drove down the road. Fried the electronics with some sort of laser. Last I knew he still had it and was living in Thailand after being "banned" at China Lake in the Mojave.

Alaska,

Well it won't be stainless. It will be mild steel. I bought the 2x4 tubing that is going to run right under the door sill. I also bought and bent up the 1 3/4 tubing that will attach to the 2x4 for a wheelwell to wheelwell step.

It will have 3 2x2 tubing stringer supports going to the frame. each stringer held on wilth 4 3/8 bolts to the frame.

The 2x4 will be attached to the body in the stock locations via a piece of 3/4x3x4 angle iron that will distro weight along the entire leangth and not just at single points. I will use 6 1/4 bolts to attach to the body.

It is coming together and will look good and provide a serious Nerf bar that can be used as a step and as protection.

Pics are on the camera in the rig and the rig is in town with the wife. I will post em up when I am done under it's own topic.

chuntag95

Let's see, where to start (in no specific order):

1. A dead pedal to rest your foot on during long trips.

2. Factory EGT and Boost Gauges.

3. A bed that doesn't bend if you put your hand on the top rail.

4. Factory sprayed in bedliner.

5. Tune it right and stop making everyone spend more to get it where it should already be.

6. User setable tire sizes.

7. 50 cals that pop out of the wheel wells.

8. Extra circuits on the fuse box for addons. Just leave the fuse out and the wire coiled up behind it.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

9. Larger factory exhaust option.

10. Factory headlight wires that are sized correctly.

11. Factory 1 micron staged fuel filter system.

12. Factory addative injector system that puts in the amount of addative you want per gallon, so you don't have to add to the tank everytime.

13. Factory lift pump.

14. A place to mount a brake controller and CB so you can see and use them.

15. Put Bilsteins on from the getgo. The factory's are POS.

16. Easy to find radio mute connection for car kits.

17. Larger fuel tank option.

18. Factory Remote start.

19. The real light back under the hood.

20. Bed caps standard from the factory.

21. Waterproof Roll Up Cover with tool box.

22. Onboard air compresser and load leveling.

23. Tented front windows.

24. A decent sound system.

25. Bigger tranny cooler and better cooling at idle.

I'm sure I can keep going, but I'll stop for now.

TEXMudder
03-30-2004, 02:30 PM
A larger fuel tank would be killer. My F350 had 29, my new 2500HD has 26. The dodge shortbed even has 36. No clue as to why the tank is so dang small.

You do know that you can do that with the regular tuner -- right?

You don't *have* to load a performance tune --although I can promise you that you'll never go back to stock if you do. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

The tow tuner would give you the functionality you want. I doubt that a tuner with the programs removed would be much cheaper anyway -- the hardware probably costs nearly what the tow tuner goes for...
