Am about to order a new 3500, am going to order the 6 way power drivers seat [ driver only ] and i am wondering if it comes with the seat memory...can anyone tell me...thanks.

I may be wrong but if you get a regular cab, you don't get the memory. Also I believe that you need to get leather to get memory too.

I have the 6-way driver's seat. No memory on mine.

I also have the 6-way power seat on mine and no memory. I believe Lawnboy is right, you need to get it with the leather.

IIRC the option was 8 way, mincing words here but is it only 6 ?

Here is what I have come up with. This is taken from the '04 GMC brochure.

You can have MANUAL 40/20/40 seats.

You can have 6 Way POWER BUCKETS (driver only) and requires Ext. or Crew Cab (N/A on Reg Cab)

You can have 10 Way POWER BUCKETS (driver ony) with heated driver and passenger cushions. This is the only option available with MEMORY and it is only available on the SLT trim level.


Thats basically it. Leather and buckets are NOT avaialable in a REGULAR cab http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif and you cant get that passenger seat powered unless you order a Denali. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif


HOWEVER.....
The OTHER '04 (regular cab as well) that I was looking at that another dealer had, did infact have 40/20/40 custom cloth seats with a DRIVERS side 6 way power seat. It was the only option that was different between the two trucks. So according to the Brochure, you cant get this, but it must not be 100% correct as I drove this truck.


Just wish that GM would offer ALL options on ALL cab configurations.


As for Chevrolet....they may be different with their options, I don't know.

I've got an '04 Crew Cab with 6 way power leather driver's seat (buckets) but no memory or seat heater on mine. In my opinion it is no better than the manual seats - it doesn't even have a lumbar control. I was very disappointed about this seat when I received my truck and if I would have known I would not have purchased the additional option.
