Got my Bilsteins in today, thanks JK!!

Decided to start with the fronts first...took the drivers side off and, well.. Are they supposed to make rattling noises on the inside?? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif Thanks alot GM for the crappy shocks... Sounded like a Fisher Price toy, not a shock... Even the wife didn't find it very amusing.. Shook the back ones, once removed, and they make nice fluid noises, so obviously they are shot as well, not to mention the rebound, or should I say, lack there of, was very notchy and noisey. Last tow trip was rather bouncy and I had enough of those crapy shocks. 18,1xx miles, great HD quality there... Looking forward to next weekends tow...

My wife gave me the stupid look when I told her I ordered RSX9000's last week.

I only have 2025 miles on the truck and she didn't understand the need to replace OEM shocks on a $50k truck that was 3 months old. Then I reminded her of the test pull we did about 5 weeks ago to set up the hitch and excercise the DMAX. She's so patient with me now..http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Plus, I didn't want the dog to get sick on our first big pull next week.

Still no shocks yet, backordered fronts. Suppose to ship today......http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Just for comparison, my 10 year old Genman car with 154K miles has the original shocks and they're still in good shape.

Are crappy shocks specific for the Duramax or are other trucks/SUV such as a 1500 or Yukon XL likely to have similar stock shock issues

The crappy shocks are specific all right; to all GM trucks and SUV's. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

If you upgrade you'll know exactly what I mean...

Can top that; replaced mine with Bilsteins from JK with about 500 miles on them in one week; one of the roads on my way to work is pretty rough and the back end was jumping around on that corner; my wife drove it in the snow that day and the bumps combined with the slippery road turned her around; no problem she said order them; now rides and handles like a dream empty or towing for a heavy duty truck!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif p.s.-one was already leaking and the other one rattled like it was broke inside.
