: front too soft, rear too stiff...

I would like to have a more "positive feeling" in the front end of my truck. I hate the way it floats over bumps like an old caddi with blown shocks. And the back just is plain harsh.
I was thinking maybe putting 285s might soften it in the back and cranking in the t-bars might help in the front end. Suspension is still all stock, as well as the tires on my truck.

Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks

That might help but you might also look into some air shocks that are adjustable.

Yes, cranking the t-bars will help the ride in the front. What about the rear end ride don't you like? On my truck it handled the big bumps and pot holes fines. It wasn't a rough ride that beat on you it was the small bumps in the road that would make the truck bounce up and down and piss me off. I don't haul stuff in the bed often so I went to the local home depot and bought three 80lb bags of sac-crete. Put one behind each wheel well and one in the middle next to the tail gate. The weight didn't make the truck sit any lower but did make the suspension flex over the little bumps. It is a cheap fix if you don't need the bed much. The paper has all worn off and I just have heavy concrete blocks in the back now due to rain. The truck is my daily driver as well as my work/hunting truck so when I need to haul things in the truck I take the blocks out. The blocks do help the ride when driving around the DFW metroplex, these freeways are crap.

I forgot about air pressure, 35psi in the back for me.

If you are running empty, decrease air pressure in the rear or add some concrete bags in the bed. Crank the T-Bars a tad to increase ft. end firmness.

Ditch the junk stock shocks, and throw some Rancho 9000x adjustable shocks on it. Then you can adjust the front/back to your liking. If you jack the bars up, only go a couple turns IMO.

Bigger tires and cranking my 33's make the truck ride so much nicer, the wife even noticed it.

Bilsteins will tighten up the front end feel. Odd as this sounds, the rear springs are too light. Add a leaf.

I felt the same as you when I got my truck. I removed the 1" thick overload spring in the rears, am adding Firestone Air Bags, cranked the Tbars up front to raise it a little, then put 285 Revo's on. It rides much better now. Getting rid of the overload spring was the best to smooth out the rear. Now I need the Air Bags to level out the rear when towing my boat. Oh -- I'm adding Bilsteins also. Cranking up the tbars seems to make it ride a little better by getting the lower arms off the bump stops. The 285's (D-rated) run at 50psi also help the ride. The stock E-rated tires and just brutul on bumps.
