I see some members are using a auto meter or another brand of tranny temp gauge and was wondering the reason for this and if the is a difference between the reading of the stock gauge and the aftermarket one.


I am fairly new to the site and have been reading it daily, trying to get all the knowlage I can before purchasing my dream truck this fall (trying to find a used 02 or 03 D/A crew cab 4X4 with leater with low KM), so far loving the fourm and all the info, can't get enough.

I have found the OEM trans temp gauge to be right on, after checking over 10 trucks in my shop with a scanner.

Mine is within 5 degrees of what the Tech2 says it is.

GM's stock tranny temp gauge is 100X better than Fords' gauge with H & C on it with no numbers
