: Beating my truck?

I did the search and it seems like 650 is the max toque for this transmission. I recently got a hypertech and ran it on stage one for a month or so. Today I try stage two and really like it. Problem is I feel like I am beating my truck with 319 hp and 534 torque. I don't want to hurt my truck, I need it for pulling my camper. I am trying to convince myself that this tune is perfectly fine since I never power brake and seldom even run it wot. What do you think? Should I go back to stage one?

I vote for stage III. I've been runnin it forever and a day. I have pulled my share and EGT's never got above 1200, even while climbing a long grade at interstate speeds. You wont be disapointed.

I found that ann EDGE box would keep the tranny alive at 330 HP and 675 TQ, above that and you were on borrowed time.

The flash tuners do not have any TQ management and seem to be harder on transmissions than the pulg&play boxes.

I've been running mine on level II for the last month/1500 miles including a 120 mile round trip pulling the trailer in my sig. Truck didn't miss a beat, I probably wouldn't go to level III unless I had a complete CAI & Catback. Been very happy with the Hypertech, their engineers seem to know their S**t with their programming.

The only complaint I have is the defueling of the shifts. Its quite noticeable.

When it defuels does it seem like a slow shift? Mine does perfectly, but I just want to understand.

With the Hypertech, has anyone noticed an improvement in fuel mileage? I have an Edge and have tried it on level 1 and 2. I'm getting about 17-18 mpg on the highway. It's OK, but I had read all these stories here about guys getting in the 20's with tuners.

I did just buy a Hypertech after talking with one guy who swears he gets 24-25 mpg with his truck on the road with no load(same as mine but a shortbed).

I'm going to remove the Edge and give the Hypertech a try. We'll see.

The most economical programmer is the predator . Mabe it s not the more powerfull for extreme hp and torque but the mileage improvement was very hight on my truck. I ad at least 30 miles on performance setting and 60-70 miles on economy-tow setting with my small bed tank of 100 litres and 33 inch tires... This programmer also keep the egt at a safe level even at performance program with a heavy feet.

I've picked up about .7 to 1.0 avg mpg on my normal commute to work after my upgrade in my sig. I was getting 17.5 consistently, now it runs between 18.2 to 18.5. I also added the AFE panel filter so not sure if that also helped bump it. Personally I find it hard to believe anyone averaging some of the ridiculous mileage claims I've seen on any kind of consistent basis. Don't buy or upgrade a programmer/chip/box simply to try to increase mileage, biggest change you can do is your driving style. I don't baby my truck but I don't drive like a hormone deranged 17 yr old either. I'm very pleased with the performance improvement since installing the hypertech, especially when towing...
