This happens when driving on flat level pavement, both warm and cold, traveling steady at about 28-32mph. I stab the throttle about ½ to ¾ of the way and it hesitates for about ½ second then the tranny takes another ½ second to downshift before I feel acceleration. In the meantime, the truck is loosing speed almost to the point of feeling like it’s trying to stand on its nose.
This doesn’t happen every time; I can repeat this behavior about 4 out of 10 attempts so it’s kind of consistent in that regard. When it doesn’t do this hesitation stuff it feels like a rocket, downshifts immediately and accelerates very strong.
I noticed this during the first week, currently rock stock with only 1200 miles, and it appears to be getting worse. Fuel economy has also dropped from about 16 city to around 10, may or may not be related.
I have an appointment with the service department tomorrow and thought I would throw this out to see if anyone else had seen this or wished to venture a guess.
Thanks,
Jeff
