Hi:

I have only had my truck for about a week. It's a 2002 2500HD D/A shortbed.

Is it normal for the battery light in the display to stay lit for about 2.5 seconds after the engine is running? Most other cars I have owned, those types of indicator lamps go out immediately after the engine is running? Is this the diagnostics checking out the alternator and electrical systems or is this possibly an issue?

I have never owned a diesel or a GM product before so I am clueless.

Thank you!

Dan

Right now its just a chink in the software, The glow plug sys draws alot of juice and causes this temp alt not charging message until the alt gets spooled up a little.

Hi Rocket:

Sounds logical. So basically, don't worry about it?

Thanks,

Dan
