: Neighbor says hell show me up
Z71 Grizzly 03-25-2004, 12:22 PM My neighbor was over a few minutes ago and he says that when I get my Duramax he'll always be one step ahead of me with his Cummins. Tell me that won't happen easily. I'd have to do tranny work eventually because he will be and he says that he is going to do more stuff to the engine. By the time I get mine they will have more performance stuff to add to won't they. It's an endless cycle of Madness.
Max Power 03-25-2004, 12:34 PM LOL, that jealous neighbor again. By the time you get your truck hopefully edge will have a box out. Others will too. Stick a ~125hp box in there and you won't loose too many races against him. (Do you know what he has done to his truck?) What year is his truck? After that you are looking at tranny upgrades.
One thing is for sure, it will cost you less money per hp then it will cost him to upgrade his.Edited by: Max Power
Max Power 03-25-2004, 12:52 PM You could buy yourself a used 03 with an LB7. then you have lots of potential for power. With the money you save by going used you could spend it on performance upgrades. Your neighbor sounds like a real insecure a$$ hole. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
grasshopper 03-25-2004, 01:07 PM gotta love the dode guys eh???? no worries you'll spank him huge with a dmax!!!http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big%20Smile.gif
partsguy662 03-25-2004, 07:02 PM Z71 Griz: I seriously doubt that the come-a-long with have anything on your truck. If I were a betting man (which I have been known to be http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif) He won't be able to do too much to that motor before his transmission gives up. As far as I'm aware, chrysler is still light years behind in the transmission category. Also, you should have about ~1000 more rpm to play with, being a v-8 vs. an inline six. Take a picture of your bumper and give it to him, and tell him that will be the only part of the truck that he'll see regularly
modified 03-25-2004, 07:36 PM Madness??? What's up with that?
Big P 03-25-2004, 08:26 PM It's as simple as this, who's got more money to spend?
Z71 Grizzly 03-25-2004, 08:42 PM Max Power. His truck is a 00 Std cab with K&N, edge comp box, and 6" stacks that me and my friend helped him put in. I dont know why I think they kinda look weird anymore. Right now he has more money to spend but I'll Get him once I get the Dmax. I just need to go this weekend and test drive one to make sure that I want a Diesel. I am what my next truck is going to be now. One of the main reasons I 'm getting this truck after a while is New, and , better mileage, easier to haul. But I think the main reason is(Probably sounds childish) To beat my Big headed Cummapart neighbor at Power and all. I want the Bad machine.
White Duramax 03-25-2004, 10:25 PM No problem beating him, you would smoke him with a 90- 100 hp box no problem. Is his auto or manual.
Z71 Grizzly 03-25-2004, 10:41 PM Auto. He says after he does tranny work his is going to run water methanol injection. He told me before that he was going to do injectors, He doesnt know what he wants to do. He'll just have to worry about keping up with the Duramax when I get it.
White Duramax 03-25-2004, 10:50 PM Exactly, I have a buddy with an 01 cummins, 275 injects, two boxes stacked, auto with pressure lock, and I beat him no problem racing and usually beat him on the pulling track also.
Got Juice? 03-25-2004, 10:51 PM Auto. He says after he does tranny work his is going to run water methanol injection. He told me before that he was going to do injectors, He doesnt know what he wants to do. He'll just have to worry about keping up with the Duramax when I get it.
Since i hand with a lot of dodges at nwbombers.com i can tell you this. a 00 etc with a comp and injectors and turbo will make as much power as your max with a hot juice.
Max Power 03-25-2004, 10:55 PM But don't forget, there are no boxes for the LLY yet! So he will have you beat until some boxes start coming out.
Wickedsprint 03-25-2004, 11:47 PM Dodges are dyno queens..
Got Juice? 03-26-2004, 01:00 AM Dodges are dyno queens..
not all, and there is a difference between an etc and an eth when hopped up.
I would hate to see what would happen if a high powered max thought he was gonna take RRhondas candy in the quartermile. she has a 1996 p-pumped (p-7100 fuel pump aka piers stoopid pump) a large hybrid turbo, mach 3??? injectors (EDM's IIRC) 191Delivery valves, 3400GSK kit and a full billet shaft equipped DTT automatic tranny..... and yes she has driveshaft loops and needs a cage!
Between her and Mtomac..... too close to call. IIRC her best ASL 1/4 is 11.39
She is also a very active (and vocal) member of the DHRA
Morse 03-26-2004, 04:27 PM I have a buddy with a 2000 model standard cab cummins.. It has no tranny work, though it does have a program and larger turbo.. It ran 13.49 at the last dhra race.. Pretty quick..
tpitt 03-26-2004, 05:20 PM Don't underestimate the Dodges. Some of them run well. tpitt
Got Juice? 03-26-2004, 08:46 PM Also Hoss (NWBOMBER MEMBER ) has bought the red rocket.
2wd e/c s/b cummins that crushes the quartermile in sub 11 seconds.
