: Programmer power??

I have a 2001 duramax crew-cab 4x4 with 285's BFG AT on it. I also installed a hypertech programmer just to see what these things are all about. I have it set on the highest setting.

Question is: Is there a programmer out there that would smoke the tires on my truck without any other custom modifications or breaking something? Edge, Quad, others???

The hypertech will not really do it. Don't get me wrong it made a big power difference but not as much as I would have thought. Not that I really need to be smoking the tires. I just would like to be able to if I get the rebel urge!

Any opinions on this? Thanks

Are there more powerful programers? Yes

Should you add them with nothing else? No

You need an EGT (and probably boost) gauge and a free flowing exhaust. The higher you go, the more risk you take.

What chuntag95 said. In order to go any higher, it is recommended that you get a pyrometer to monitor your temps. A free flowing 4" exhaust and air filter will help keep these temps in check. Let me know if we can help.
