where are the common places for oil to leak on a 6.5? I have a leak that I think is coming from the oil filter mount. The filter seal is not leaking but area where it screws to might be. The value cover gasket isn't leaking nor the oil pan gasket in that area. I hate leaks and I try to fix them all. any ideas?

I had a mechanic tell me that the oil filter mount will leak where it bolts to the block, can be fixed with a gasket or O rings I can't remember which. However I discovered that my ops was leaking and once I replaced it no more leak. It will run down the back of the block. hope this helps.

Remove the oil filter, and the dis-assembly is obvious.

GM upgraded the o-ring set to high heat orange silicone.

FarzIno, GM is the best place to get the replacement, for that reason.:cool:
