: Headlight adjustment NOT!

I cranked on the bars and raised the front up 1.5" and slaped on a set H2's a couple of months ago. Finally today I get over to one of the local body shops to have the headlights adjusted because they are pointed to high IMHO. Guy says "Ya sure we can do that". They move a couple of cars around so that they can get the truck in the bay. Turn the head lights on and pop the hood. At this point the three year old breaks loose from my grip. I catch him and have a short, 1 sided, eye-to-eye discussion about what will and could happen the next time he takes off like that. When I return to the truck there are now 4 guys standing around the front corner of the truck. When they see me one of them holds up the head light assembly and says "there is no addjustment on this". Sure enough I couldn't find anyway of adjusting it either. But then it's kind of hard to do anything holding on to a 3 year old. I'll look closer this weekend. What's up with this? More GM cost savings?

The adjustment is on top of the modular headlight, you can use either a male torx driver or a female torx driver. Tightening the screw lowers the headlight and loosening raises the headlight. If you block off one light it is easier to see the amount of change you make. ( the screw is gold in color and very small). The adjustments can be made in less then a minute.

There's also a left/right adjustment screw mounted on the side of the light assembly, but it's down in a hole and you'll need something with about a six inch reach to get to it.

I had the dealer take out an assembly to peek at my Mega Filter. I wasn't around of course, but when my lights came on, the passengers was looking for owls. They couldn't get it back in correctly. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Does anyone know of a good way to determine the proper headlight height setting? I would like to get maximum distance without bothering the little people http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif in their go-carts. LOL

i adjusted mine on a very dark stretch of road. this may not be the most scientific, but I am very happy with the coverage it gave me. the only other thing I had to do was "even" them out when I got home (as seen against the garage door)

Just found this on aiming head lights.

That works okay, but it's a bit time consuming to set it up and requires a flat surface I don't have access to.

I like the dark road deal myself, in fact there's one down the street that's a new road and it's got barricades at the end of it. It was perfect for aiming headlights.....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
