Ok, first off, I am the sole driver of the lead sled. My wife has no desire to driver the ol' burb. Which is fine. So, I have been thinking. What if I could make the diesel totally manual-not the transmission, I am speaking of electrical. You know, manual fast idle, cold advance, Acessories, Glow plug (have that) etc. More or less, all the key would be for would be to lock the sterring column.

Doable? Has anyone done this ?

Yes, lots of people. You could even go REALLY switch crazy and get an electric supply pump and get a switch for it too.

Not to mention a pump in which I could hook up to a remote source for fuel (say home heating fuel) and pump away! woohoo!
