I'm interested in some bars or boards for my 2005 dodge quad cab. Truck is Silver Metallic, Laramie Pkg, Chrome wheels. I'm having the bed sprayed with Line-x and getting a fold-a-cover so i'd like to have a wheel to wheel step for access to the forward bed area.

I've looked at everything from the J&J to Diamond plate, fiberglass, tubes, etc. The Luverne Megasteps look good, the J&J look good. What about the lighted fiberglass - are they sturdy, how do they hold up? I live in Central Florida - how is the upkeep on the stainless bars/boards down here?

I don't know about stainless in Florida. I prefer boards to steps because they give more protection from rocks. I don't like fiberglass because it will break, while a metal board will bend and can be bent back into shape. Then again, our pickups are used on the farm and are subjected to hard work. If you use your pickup on hard surfaces, you could get by with steps.

I got the Luverne Mega Steps. they work well and look great on the truck.
