Recently I have noticed that my pyro guage "acts up" when I turn my truck on. When I first start my truck it stays at zero, then for the first five miles or more it rapidly flicks back and forth. Once the truck warms up it works fine. My hypothesis is that soot build up on the probe sheath is causing an initial insulating effect. Since it still works, I am not going to remove the probe to check. (2003 Chevy 2500 HD D/A) Edited by: E=mc

And your question is?.....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif Well I am running banks guages and the pyro worked normally at first with gradual temp increase when engine started. Now when engine starts the pyro guage is "wobbly"for 5-10 mins then back to normal. Has any one experienced this?

Sounds like a loose connection or wire has rubbed the insulation off. Mine bounced all over once. It was a loose connection. Later! Frank
