got a buddy that drives a new 6.0, went to the interstate and ran from a dead stop to 95 and a 30 kick and 60 kick. from a dead stop the 6.0 will pull one car length till 40 then the max comes on and passes one car and stays pulling very little ammount(not over 2 car lenghts) till 95. 30 kick jumps up and starts pulling off immediatly and still keeps pulling till 95. at 60 kick really jumps and tries to run off. this is just a little fyi for who ever wanted to know since i have always heard that the 6.0 will eat the max in stock form....NOT TRUE

Did you remove your juice/attitude completely? If you just set it down to 0 you are still not stock. The juice still advances the timing and some claim it adds ~30hp IIRC.

I had a 03' and put 15K on a 6.0 and then had the Dmax and 6.0 for two weeks together. The Dmax had no chance against the 6.0 stock, but keep in mind the Dmax was brand spanking new and the 6.0 was broke in well. I have come to realize, the Dmax is a VERY tight motor when brand new and has a huge break-in gain.

MY MAX HAS GOT 30K AND THE FORD HAS 20K BOTH TRUCKS RUN, CRANK, IDLE, PERFECT....NEVER HAD ANY OR HAVE ANY PROBS WITH EITHER TRUCK......I CAN SAY THAT I DROVE BOTH TRUCKS BEFORE AND I THOUGHT THE FORD WAS ALOT FASTER THAN MY DMAX AND SAID MYSELF WITH THE OWNER OF THE FORD IT WOULD BLOW MY MAX OFF THE ROAD.....JUST DIDNT PROVE SO WHEN WE RAN THEM DOWN THE INTERSTATE

What is the gear ratio of the 6.0?

3.73 OR 3 SOMETHING. WHATEVER FORD IS .....NOT THE 410 OR 411

It looks like the 6.0L is only available in 3.73 and 4.10

I met up with one with a big chrome exhaust tip, and it was blowing lots of black smoke every time he stepped it down. So I know it was not stock.


Wet roads and traffic was a problem. We were going 65 or so, when I seen the smoke roll, I stepped it down, and could have passed him before I hit 90 mph, if it would have been open road and dry.


But that isn`t much of a comparision.

Does it really matter is a stock PS 6.0 is or is not faster than the Duramax. Any of us that want to beat a stock or modified 6.0 would have little trouble with all the aftermarket support that the Duramax enjoys.

I have not had the pleasure of racing a 6.0 yet...since I have the lightest 4wd configuration (reg cab with a stick), might be fun.
