Pertaining to a stock Duramax, what is the fuel pressure at the injector and is this pressure constant or variable with engine RPMs or throttle position? What are the cylinder pressures that have to overcome by the injectors? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Fuel pressure is the same from the outlet of the high pressure pump, through the rails and out to the nozzles..... varying from 5000 at idle up to 23,000 psi under high load conditions. The injectors are expensive solenoid valves. They don't "intensify" the pressure, they only meter it. Th high pressure fuel pump does all the pressurizing.

I don't know the cylinder pressures.
