I recently bought a 2001 f-250 XLT 4x4 supercab with a 7.3L with 37000 miles. I have experince with the 7.3 in the ambulances i have driven on the job. But this is the first one i have owned myself. If anyone can give me tips or advise on any mods i can do to it. or any problems any one has had. thanks

Take alook at some of the other articles and at www.thedieselstop.com (http://www.thedieselstop.com). It is all according to how much you have to spend. I put all of the below listed items on myself and I have gained about 130-150hp. I'm intrested in a Fuel Air Seperation System(FASS) and on the propane systems. The new edge juice chip system looks really good. You get the most bang for your buck with the chips. The engine could run hot so you need the gauges. As far as the intake and exhaust more air in and more air out equals horsepower.

It would be nice if they made the edge system that they have for the 6.0L in a version for the 7.3L

the on the fly changes and the in cab monitor that the edge gives you is verry nice you dont have to buy a pyro, trans temp, or boost guages

The gauge and chip combo that the edge product gives you was why I suggested it, but I didn't know if they made them for a 7.3.....

If they don't make one soon the chip and gauges only take a couple of hours to install.

Check out this page http://www.allturbopower.com/newsletter/tuner_review.html

Exhaust: Far and away the best system that I have come across is DPP. The fit and finish is excellent and comes in Aluminized, T409 SS, and T304 SS.

Gauges: It all depends upon what look you are going for. If you are looking for something close to stock, check out the Autometer Z-series. Otherwise, there are plenty of other styles to chose from.

Turbo: All depends on how much power you plan on running. The easiest turbo upgrade is the ATS ported shroud compressor housing. It is a direct bolt on and replaces your stock compressor housing. Another way to upgrade your turbo is with the Wicked Wheel. This wheel will increase your low end, improve throttle response, and lower your egt's. The last option is the BB turbo. This is recommended for higher HP applications. This turbo offers almost instant spool up and a 100-200 deg. drop in egt's.

I hope this info helps, if you have any questions give me a call.
