Hi all. Great Forum, lot's of info!

I got a warranty question for you. My father-in-law is thinking ofd buying a 2004 Chevy 2500 leftover. The deraler told him the warranty will start when he takes delivery, but he spoke to a couple of other dealers and they told him it ends in 2007(3 yrs. or 36,000 miles). Can anyone tell me which to believe? I think it should be 3 yrs. from when he purchases it.

Thanks Ed

Warranty starts from the date of purchase, the mileage on the truck is added to the 36K. A leftover, is he sure he truck hasn't been sold once? Do a VIN check to be sure.

I just went throught this withthe dealer. I bought a 03 Yukon XL that was the Bosses with 7300 miles on it. I was told that my 36,000 mile warrenty started then. I just took is in for a Engine Light on. It needed a new intake manifold gasket. The dealer said becasue it had 37100 miles on it it was out of warrenty. I said no that my milage started when I got it. The sevice guy said let me do some checking. He called me back in a hour and said they would do it under warrenty as a courtesy to me.
So who is right. Do I got to call GM Customer service so see:confused:

I do not believe that DEALER Demo's are awarded the same warranty and NEW, never driven, leftovers.

I bought a 2003 Tahoe that had sat on a dealer lot for 10 months and the warranty started the day I drove it off the lot with 3 miles on it.

I would do some serious checking, a 2004 is a long time to be sitting on a lot......

Be wary of that one.
