: Drive shaft hoop kits now available
tranytom 02-17-2006, 06:13 PM Well I've just finished the hoop kit on Nick's 2001 Dmax to meet DHRA pulling rules. These kits will work on both manual and auto shifting transfer cases. There will be two kits one for manual, one for auto transfer case & with or without center hoops for each. I will have pic's of center hoops soon. Here are the pic's we have.

duramaxdiesel 02-18-2006, 05:39 PM Yeah yeah, I know. The amount of salt they use up here really takes it's toll. It should all be cleaned up by spring.

tranytom 02-22-2006, 09:12 AM how about when you have a two piece driveshaft?
If I get more than two or three that want them. I will hunt down a two pice truck & make a set for them.
Tom
ZR1160 02-22-2006, 09:37 AM Looking good Tom, Nick need all the protection he can get ......
(from himself:muahaha: )
05LLY2500HD 02-23-2006, 09:56 PM I'm interested.
ARICO100 02-24-2006, 10:58 AM I'm interested in the 2 piece, can you give me a estimate of the weight of the units? thanks
Cummin_Stroke_this_Dmax 02-25-2006, 11:14 AM I'm interested in the 2 piece, can you give me a estimate of the weight of the units? thanks
ditto
tranytom 02-25-2006, 11:55 AM I under stand that there is weight limit & the two piece drive shaft dually's are close to it. I can make the pipe AL buy it will close to triple the price of the kit. If all the two piece units are steel shafts 4” this could make for a liter kit.
Tom
ARICO100 02-25-2006, 12:06 PM hi tom,
could you give me the approx weight then i can tell if i need them to be al. thanks
tranytom 02-25-2006, 11:07 PM hi tom,
could you give me the approx weight then i can tell if i need them to be al. thanks
I will weigh the set on monday
Tom
Cummin_Stroke_this_Dmax 02-25-2006, 11:30 PM shouldn't be too hard getting down to weight. I have a CC/LB dually, and I weigh around 400 myself. At IRP I got down to 8K.... lost the tailgate, 1/4 tank fuel, no gooseneck hitch, or toolbox, plus I still had 200#'s hanging up front, so I'm not too concerned about the weight.
tranytom 02-26-2006, 09:56 AM I talked to one guy in CA siad that he would have to shave to get the kit on.
Tom
P.S.
Are all the two peice drive shafts steel
DMax_Doug 02-26-2006, 09:20 PM Tom do you have a kit for the 1-piece alumimum "telephone pole" shafts used on crewcab shortbeds?
Doug

Cummin_Stroke_this_Dmax 02-27-2006, 12:43 AM Tom, as far as I know all the two piece shafts are steel.

ARICO100 02-27-2006, 05:36 PM hi tom, my cc lb 05 has al drive shafts
tranytom 02-27-2006, 11:47 PM hi tom, my cc lb 05 has al drive shafts
OH boy! I guess that means there the 6" polls? I will have to look at doing all them at the larger size to simplify the production of the units.
Tom
trailerpro 03-05-2006, 08:11 PM What's the ETA on the kits?
tranytom 03-06-2006, 07:12 PM I should have the new price for the larger hoops by the end of the week.
I will be taking orders after that & should have them done in about four weeks. The power coat line ouly does the hi gloss back marble once or twice a month.

duramaxdiesel 03-17-2006, 01:23 AM Oh cool. You stayed at the shop late tonight and got the prices figured out.
tranytom 03-19-2006, 09:22 AM Some notes on the kits. You will need to drill a cupple of holes, two in frame & two in the flange of the diff. This is only for the rear kit. I will send a spacer tool in the kit to help you set it up. All hard ware needed with be in the kits you only need drill, bits & hand tools.
Tom
