Is there any way to mount a gauge and watch fuel pressure to see if your fuel filter is getting plugged up? Had one go south last weekend on the side of the road. If I knew it was getting plugged I would have changed it before the road trip..
Thanks

Yup.....get something that shows both pressure and sucking though ;)
You want mechanical or electronic?

Dam I missed typed that. Should have said going to over head mount the guages. I was going with Mechanical in the Autometer Coblat series cause they were a little cheaper.

Personally I don't recommend it. Without a lift pump you will be running vacuum at all times and the numbers will swing all over the place. It's up to you what you do, but I prefer to just use my test gauge to measure restriction from time to time as needed. I do have the SPA DG211 set up in my OH console on my 2002 but that runs lift pumps.

Sorry don't know the particulars of your truck but if there are pipe ports on both sides of the fuel filter this is where you would want to put your pressure senders. You can wire this through a SPDT switch feed from the center to the gauge. This is what I did and works wonderfully. The gauges that I use were of the 16 lbs type.Sorry yours ????? Hope this helps.

............. the numbers will swing all over the place. .............
Mine dont swing. I stay about 2" Idle 5" crusing and 7" WOT. Its a relitivly gentle swing of the gauge.
