Is my 02 suposed to beep the horn when locking with the remote?

It could be set up that way IIRC. I don't remember how to set it up, but I know when I had my 02 GMC 1500, I had to push the lock button twice on the remote for it to do it. Don't have a manual?? I will try and do some looking around here.....I should have one laying around because I bought one and then later rolled the truck.

On edit, this is what the 2004 book says:

LOCK: Pressing this button once will lock all of the doors. Wait one second, then press LOCK again and the horn will chirp.

Hope this helps, I don't know how many times you are pushing your remote lock button. Maybe it is getting a "double tap" causing the honk.

if you have the redundant controls on the steering wheel, then use the buttons on the lower right, iirc,

thumb through the menu until you get to the right one, and activate it

dont you play with the buttons?):h

My 02 beeps on the second push of the lock button.
