After I replaced and installed a remote cooler I don't have to give it much throttle and it is hard to keep it at a low speed it is way to responsive. Also I thought the new PMD was bad, do to when I had the cruise on it would fish bite when going down hill. So returned it and the new one does it too. I also installed a #9 resistor. could that have done it? Or do I need to look at something else?

It doesn't sound like the resistor, but then who knows? Did you remove the old pmd from the IP? If so, maybe pump isn't positioned exactly as it was before? This would throw off your timing. I don't know that it would cause the exact symptoms that you describe.
How many miles on your IP?

The old pmd is still on the pump. And my IP has like 20K on it.

sounds to me like an optic bump that was bumped too far.

Or the filter harness that may or may not be on that year truck and may or may not be necessary. Most think it is unecessary and according to JK, it wasn't put on the later years to begin with.

Mine does that too but i just thought that is what they do. I will dig into the pump again when it warms up a bit cold last few days
It is blowing white hard for a while on start up for about 10 minutes then clears up.

Could be the filter harness. Check Bill's blog:

Does the 97 have that and if not should i get one?
Thanks

I'm not sure if OBDII has the filter, fishbite can also caused by bad OPS, lift pump in early stage of death, & fuel filter partially blocked, #9 resistor swap would not cause fishbite, probably PCM does not know it's even got a #9 unless you did TDC offset learn, it runs on last stored value during last learn,
Need to drive with a gauge plumbed into the cab to monitor lift pump pressure while driving, need 2 psi or better
Also look at the PCM area, my 98 came with pigtails for the hi idle option on center PCM connector, and accidentally grounded to the frame giving intermittent hi-idle

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to this. My laptop crashedCensored and crashed hard-:t...so Thanks for the replys. I do have a question. The optic sensor...How do you find it and how is it "bumped"? I have a gut feeling that is what it is. The throttle has all ways been touchy since I got it.

Fishbite:
I had stalling/quits/no starts AND fishbite.
PMD fixed Stalling/quits/no starts.
DID NOT fix fishbite, drove truck for quite a few thousand miles untill it started to Quit with and imediate restart,
Happened more frequently when warming up from temps
around freezing,
Repalced IP, it fixed problem.
Note. it also fixed the slightly rough running engine from when TCC locked until over 1700 rpm
