2001 Duramax often will loose fuel prime after being parked an a 6-30 degree incline with front end on the high side, after about a week truck will start for a 1-3 Sec, then stall.. I have been able to prime fuel into filter until recently and had it towed to dealer. Dealer could not prime it either so replaced the entire fuel assembly w/primer pump. After about a week of being parked on the hill I had to prime it to get it started. Another week passes starts and stalls again, this time it would not prime for me and had it towed back to dealer again. Original problem never fixed.
Of course once it is off the hill it primes for dealer but not easily…truck is still at dealer after more than a week of them trying to duplicate problem….and I am getting the run around they say it can be one of 3 things and we only want to fix the right one.
Other than another dealer with a decent diesel mechanic……
Why is the incline with the frontend up causing it to let air in the system and then not even able to prime it on incline? It there some kind of check valve in the tank that could cause this??
Frustrated and looking for answers….
