With the 315's will it fit underneath?

I thought about this and from what I can tell, it will definately hit the exhaust and possibly the pumpkin and maybe the back of the hitch. So I say, no can do.

Bummer, So where does everyone with "right sized" tires put their spares? I wouldn't leave home without one, and think it's impractical to take up bed space.

2much,

what is your conclusion based on. Has anybody with the 315's tried this? I have heard that 285's fit.

other factors inclide OEM or aftermarket exhaust ? I wonder if a bracket or spacer of sorts mounted between the exhaust and the spare would keep it off the exhaust.

I looked at the stock settup yesterday, on a 6.0. I think it would fit on that truck. Looks like 2.5 inches extra avaiable, closest to differential and exhaust.

So who's going to be the first to do it!!

side note.....I think it can be done based on a security story I heard last year... Some guys were stealing H2 rims and wheels through security by hoisting them up in place of their spare tire. Quite a few people got thrown out of GM on their heads with no benefits......

I did it and it does fit barely, snugs up against the hitch wiring, stem down, no problem, so go ahead and buy 5 T.O.'.s happy camper!

I think you can pull the tire to the side as it tightens against the frame... I think. I thought I had done that before with my H2 spare... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif Might give it a try. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_2_17.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001)

I took a look at it today, and noticed that it rubs against the diff cover, not good.

Is that Mag-tech cover deeper or shallower?

Deeper, it won't fit with the Mag-Hytec.

I moved the H2 spare a bit, flush against the hitch (rerouted the harness) and it fits great with 1/2" clearance from the diff. Stock cc short bed. Edited by: masterp2
