What is the normal operating temp of the alison? When snow plowing I was in the 140 to 160 range with 90 % to time being at 150. Also it the gage in the dash good or should I get a after market one. Keeping the engin stock do I need EGT gage?

Sounds perfect the cooler the better .... One one like to see a 185 MAX temp but 200 isn't out of the ordinary when towing over hilly terain in the summer ....

A EGT gauge will measure Exhaust Gauge Temps .... I have a AUX tranny gauge and I've found the STock gauge to be fairly accurate ...

My AUX gauge will read a bit lower as it is MID pan and measuring fluid only .... Once the whole tranny gets working and warm it's not long before everything pretty much matches up ...

I notice the sump temp will drop quicker then the gauge in the cluster indicating actual fluid temp ...
