I'm well into my search for my first Duramax powered truck, I've contacted several dealers about the exact truck I'm looking for. Howard is willing to provide a GMSD number, but the dealers "invoice price" is $475 lower than the GMSD price. The dealer will sell at invoice minus rebate, is that the best price out there? Should I be trying to get some hold back money thrown in to sweeten the deal? Mike Z

Mike,
Sounds like the dealer is giving you a pretty good deal out of the chute. You may be able to ask him for a gas card or maybe some accessories or free oil changes to seal the deal.

If you're buying the truck off the lot, I think they are giving you a heck of a deal. You may be able to push the issue some if you are ordering the truck. That's the exact same deal I got when I ordered my truck. I know my dealer is still making money, but I'm content that I got a good deal. They're not in the charity business, so I have no problem with them making a few bucks off of my sale.

Is there someone on the site that can get the MSRP price, GMS price, and the GMSD price by the VIN number? The suppliers price website won't price out a vehicle with LT2 or LT3 with the LBZ motor selected. I've got a price on an already built new truck and I'm trying find out how close it is to dealers cost. Mike

I found a great deal on a Victory Red 3500 CC LB DRW LBZ powered beast. I saved a lot of money and couldn't be happier. Thanks Redeagle313 and Howard for your help and advice. Mike Z

Try "Build a Vehicle" at http://www.cudirect.com/
and "Build a new car" at http://www.kbb.com/
Then check out the "Invoice" and "Incentives" link(s)
It worked for me...:)

I ordered mine the way I wanted it, and the dealer charged a small amount over their invoice - minus any GM rebates or discounts at that time. Could be because I was dealing with the same salesman for years, but I feel he treated me well after shopping around.
As for Howard, he is a great asset to this forum. Tracking the vehicle once it was put on the train was pretty cool. Even better was having it in my driveway under 8 weeks after ordered - during the holidays too.
