I hope to get a 99’ Suburban today. It’s a 2500 “F” type with the 6.5TD with 3.73s and I am wondering what the tow rating is.

Anyone??

What about links to brochures or information about this stuff. I can only find info on newer trucks. Nothing on the 6.5TD

Info should be in owners manual if available

Mine is 6,000 but that is due to the gearing. I would think yours is 7,000 or 8,000 anyway.

This is what's in the brochure..

C2500 3.73 8,000
K2500 3.73 7,500

With the 6.5TD it doesn't matter what gears you have 3.73 or 4.10.. Lists the same towing capacity..

Go in the glove box check RPO codes there vs RPO code list in FAQ
