Hello from So.Cal. Have 2004 CC D-Max. Just purchased a 38ft Next Level. Has anybody reached tranny overheat(more than 270 degrees) and engine temp(max 248 degrees) Have been using the Juice w/ edge module. Even in stock mode, levels reach this point. Do not have any intake mods done, although have Hog exhaust, 4 inch downpipe with 6inch tip. Cruising around town is fine, but towing 15000 lbs is tough, even in weather at 65 degrees. I am new here, still learning how to navigate through website. Any comments, please post. Thanks.

First off welcome to the DP, Do a Search on overheating and take a weeks vacation from work as there is a lot of reading on this subject. If some one on here cant help you there isnt anyone anywhere that can not even your dealer-JMO

Again, Welcome

Good to have you in the brother (and sister)hood. When you get a chance, create a signature showing your truck options and modifications so users can help you easier. And we will all want to see your ride so feel free to create your "Garage".

Good luck at the stealer!

Chasetruck,

Below is my email to you after recieving it on the 3rd (5/3/06) and just having read it today (5/8/06). I have posted my response to it here for others to read...

Your email...

My response...

My Edge is set on level 1 when I described the scenario in one of the
overheating threads you are talking about. My truck is an LLY of 2005. It
came off the assembly line the first week in April (2005). I have heard many
people complain of the overheating problem. I have yet to experience it. I
have a new all time high of 214° (Edged recorded). The fan (stock fan), came
on and lowered the temperature down to about 192° before disengaging. It
will do this several times during a steep climb.

What version of the Edge Juice are you running? I sent mine
back and they installed the latest software (''2.1'' I believe).

My air conditioning was a contributing factor of the latest high recording.
After seeing (and hearing the fan come on), I played with turning on/off the
AC. I could influence the length the fan would stay on and not really see
any difference in temperature. I came to the conclusion that when my fan
comes on, it's hard to overload it with heat.

It also sounds like you have a bad Juice box... If you can remove it and the problem goes away, It's you Edge program. I would check for any bent pins in your edge harness from removing/installing it. If all is well, give Edge a call and describe your situation. Ask for the updated programming and get a Return Authorization number. Let us know of your results.
